A residual contact and stomach insecticide with flushing and knockdown action for the control of cockroaches, fleas, ants, crickets, fishmoths and house flies.

Active Ingredient

Warnings

  • Handle with extreme care.
  • Poisonous by inhalation, contact and swallowing.
  • Toxic to bees, fish and wildlife.
  • Keep out of reach of children, animals and uninformed persons.
  • Store under lock and key away from food and fodder in a safe place away from heat but not under 0C.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight.
  • FLAMMABLE - keep away from open flames.

Precautions

  • Do not breathe fumes or spray mist.
  • Wash clothing after a days' work.
  • Wash immediately with soap and hot water after accidental skin contact.
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst applying, mixing or before washing hands and face.
  • Prevent contamination of foodstuffs, food utensils and drinking water.
  • Clean applicator after use.
  • Triple rinse the empty container by inverting it over the spray or mixing tank and allowing to drain for at least 30 seconds after the flow has slowed to a drip.
  • Thereafter rinse the container three times with a volume of water equal to a minimum of 10 % of that of the container. Add rinsing water to the contents of the spray tank before destroying the container.
  • Destroy empty container by perforation and flattening and do not re-use for any other purpose.
  • Do not walk across treated areas until the application has dried thoroughly.
  • Remove pets and cover or remove aquaria.

First Aid

  • Remove patient from source of poisoning to a well-ventilated area and keep him quiet and reassured. Remove contaminated clothing and rinse contaminated body area thoroughly with plenty of soap and water.  After eye contact, flush contamination out of eyes with clean water and call a doctor. If swallowed do not induce vomiting. Wash out mouth with water and call a doctor immediately.

Symptoms of human poisoning

  • Sweating, salivation, dizziness, abdominal pain, discomfort in the chest, muscle twitching, convulsions, respiratory failure, nausea, headache, vomiting, diarrhoea, hypotensive effect, blurred vision.

Note Physician

  • Monitor respiratory, cardiac and central nervous system. Observe red blood cell and plasma cholinesterase.  Give artificial respiration if necessary.  Endotracheal intubation should be done and gastric lavage performed, followed by administration of charcoal.

Directions for Use

  • USE ONLY AS DIRECTED.
  • Recommended for use in dwelling houses, hospitals, barracks, compounds, workshops, industrial premises, factories, ships and stables.
  • Blattanex EC provides a good flushing action, rapid knockdown and long residual control.
  • Blattanex EC is easily miscible with water and may be applied with most hand and power operated sprayers.
  • Blattanex EC may be applied to most surfaces such as glass, wood, painted wood, plastic tiles, varnish, clay, loam, etc. (see restrictions), although it is primarily intended for use on non-absorbent surfaces.

Cockroaches, ants, fleas, fishmoths and crickets

500 mℓ water / 10 litres water. On surfaces with alkaline reactions (e.g. whitewashed walls) and porous surfaces use 700mℓ / 10 litres water.

Apply to the point of run-off as a residual spray or with a paint brush, to skirting boards, cracks and other places where insects may hide. Also spray to adjacent exposed surfaces where insects may crawl when they come out of hiding. Repeat if necessary.

House flies

500 mℓ water / 10 litres water. On surfaces with alkaline reactions (e.g. whitewashed walls) and porous surfaces use 700mℓ / 10 litres water.

Apply to the point of run-off as a residual spray or with a paint brush to exposed surfaces of buildings, screen doors, window frames, and other places frequented by flies. Repeat as required. Attractiveness to flies my be improved by adding 500g of sugar per 10 litres of spraymix.

Use Restrictions

  • Do not apply Blattanex Emulsion sprays to rugs, carpets, draperies, wall paper or similar materials that may be stained or watermarked, unless it has proven safe on such materials.
  • Do not use as a space spray.
  • Provide adequate ventilation of the area being treated.
  • Do not apply to plants, animals or humans.
  • Do not apply to surfaces were food is handled.
